WAHA Kicks Off Membership Drive

By Sherri Crawford, posted May 17, 2019
The Wilmington Area Hospitality Association (WAHA) kicked off its annual membership drive May 15 at an event at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Wilmington Riverfront.

The organization includes members from the area’s tourism industry and holds bimonthly meetings “at various event venues, accommodations, restaurants and attractions in the area as well as evening events on alternating months, providing an opportunity for members to learn more about the large number of tourism products in the area,” officials said.

At the kick-off event, the group also presented checks to representatives from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and Cape Fear Community College raised from WAHA’s recent Hospitality Olympics fundraiser.

“This year’s donation of $7,500 is our highest yet,” said Heather Miura, the event’s chairperson.
