Two Local Hoteliers Earn Top Honors

Kip Damrow and Scott Hazle have been honored by Hilton Garden Inns as Director of Sales of the Year and Southeast Region General Manager of the Year, respectively.

Damrow has been the director of sales for the Hilton Garden Inn Mayfaire since May of 2008. According to the press release, Damrow has been an outstanding role model for his staff and has made significant contributions to the hotel and community.

In January, Damrow was recognized as Hospitality Person of the year- Southern Region by the North Carolina Coast Host trade association. Currently, he is serving his third term as president of the Wilmington Area Hospitality Association.

“Kip continues to lead our sales team every day through his exceptional performance,” said Scott Hazle, General Manager. “He can always be counted on to live the spirit of Hilton Garden Inn, making our hotel successful and our guests loyal. No matter the challenge, Kip is always focused on taking care of our guests and promoting Wilmington as a great place to visit.”

Hazle has been the General Manager of the Hilton Garden Inn Mayfaire since August 2010. According to the press release, Hazle is credited with improving guest satisfaction and is recognized for leadership of his staff.

“Scott consistently demonstrates exceptional leadership,” said Rae Salling, Interstate Hotels and Resorts’ vice president of operations. “He is dedicated to the success of the hotel and his team. Scott focuses on taking care of our guests and associates, and he believes strongly in the spirit of the Hilton Garden Inn brand and in Wilmington as one of the top destinations in the country.”

The Hilton Garden Inn is located at Mayfaire Town Center and is ranked number one among Wilmington properties on tripadvisor.com.
