There’s a new medical office building now open at the Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center campus in Bolivia.

Officials opened the new 34,000-square-foot building Wednesday morning. The two-story building houses heart and vascular services, family medicine, urology, surgical care and an infusion center, according to a Novant press release.

Thomas Construction Group broke ground on the center in early 2022, which is filled with “modern amenities, including a covered patient drop-off area, drive-thru services, a welcoming outdoor porch, and ample surface parking accommodating approximately 250 vehicles,” according to a release from the development firm.

Aside from Novant Health Urology, which will open next month, the new practices are fully operational. In its release, Thomas Construction Group thanked the hospital system and Trask Land Co., which owns the building, for their collaboration on the $12.3 million project. “This synergy has culminated in a building that significantly expands access to high-quality medical care for the residents of Brunswick County and the neighboring regions,” the release states.

Novant Health operates 15 community hospitals and hundreds of outpatient clinics across the Carolinas and Virginia.

“We are very excited to extend our current services as we continue to see rapid growth in southeastern North Carolina,” Heather King, president and chief operating officer of Brunswick Medical Center, said in the release. “We are fortunate to be able to expand right here on campus, offering a convenient way to improve access for our patients.”
