WH Adds Pelvic Floor Therapist To Its Team

Wilmington Health’s Women’s Center of Excellence recently added a pelvic floor therapist to its list of specialists.
 
Catherine Duncan joined the Pelvic Floor and Continence Center, working with its urogynecology team to support treatment of pelvic pain, weakness and dysfunction in pelvic muscles.
 
Duncan graduated from East Carolina University with a doctorate in physical therapy and currently attends a women’s health apprenticeship program, according to a news release.
 
The Pelvic Floor and Continence Center, part of the Wilmington Health’s Women’s Center of Excellence, offers treatment options for women suffering from pelvic disorders related to both genetics and childbirth that cause the muscles of the pelvic floor to weaken or stretch, the release stated. Treatments include pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery as well as pelvic floor therapy.
