Dosher Wellness Center Adds Vascular Surgeon

By Ken Little, posted Sep 8, 2017
A new practice opened this summer at the Dosher Wellness Center in Southport.

At the same time, David A. Weatherford and physician assistant Tracy Helm joined the medical staff of Dosher Memorial Hospital. Weatherford and Helm are affiliated with Coastal Surgery Specialists.

Weatherford is board-certified in vascular surgery and also performs endovascular procedures. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Coastal Surgery Specialists is the second new tenant at Dosher Wellness Center, which recently marked its one-year anniversary with an open house.

The facility opened last September at 3009 Medical Plaza Lane.

The 26,000-square-foot medical complex was already home to the family medicine practice of Kristos Vaughan and Leigh Vaughan; cardiac rehabilitation, which relocated from the hospital; satellite physical therapy and X-ray services; and the cardiology physician practice of James W. McCriskin with New Hanover Regional Medical Center Physician Group-Cape Fear Heart Associates.
