Three major health care organizations in the Wilmington area have announced additions and changes to their offerings.

New Novant clinic
In mid-July, Novant Health Oceanside Family Medicine will open a new clinic in Leland, located at Waterford Medical Plaza, 509 Olde Waterford Way, Suite 200. It is the fourth Novant Health Oceanside Family Medicine location, according to the organization’s news release.

The clinic will be staffed by physicians Justin and Tori Asbury, each of whom is board-certified in family medicine.  Both completed medical school at Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia, followed by residency in Newport News, Virginia, the release stated.
 
The husband-and-wife team previously practiced together at a family medicine clinic in Elizabethton, Tennessee, but most recently Justin Asbury was at Novant Health Oceanside Family Medicine in Bolivia, while Tori Asbury was at the location in Southport.
 
Staff members are currently scheduling appointments for the new clinic. An open house is planned for July 30.

Pediatrics added to Wilmington Health in Mayfaire
Wilmington Health Pediatrics has added pediatric medicine to its existing location in Mayfaire at 6781 Parker Farm Drive, according to a news release. The two physicians staffing the practice are Danny Ott and Pamela Taylor.
 
Ott (at left) graduated from medical school at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill and completed his internship and residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
 
Taylor (at right) completed medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and did her internship and residency at Virginia Commonwealth University and the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. She is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and holds additional certifications in pediatric advanced life support and neonatal advanced life support.
 
Wilmington Health Pediatrics offers complete health care for patients from birth through 18 years of age.

NHRMC heart practices merge
Two heart specialty practices within the New Hanover Regional Medical Center Physician Group have announced a merger designed to “further streamline cardiology care,” according to a news release from NHRMC.

Hanover Cardiology, with its five physicians and support staff, will join Cape Fear Heart Associates at its location in the NHRMC Heart Center – Outpatient Services building at 1415 Physicians Drive, the release stated. That building also houses special testing, lab, device clinics, along with the NHRMC Cardiac Imaging & Diagnostics and cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation services, according to the release.

The merger is official beginning Wednesday.
 
“While our name is changing, our commitment to our patients remains as strong as ever. We are excited to be joining the area’s largest cardiology practice in a comprehensive cardiac services facility,” James W. Snyder MD, of Hanover Cardiology, said in the release.

By relocating and joining Cape Fear Heart Associates, Hanover Cardiology patients and providers will “remain closely aligned with the technologies and resources of the region’s leading hospital, including a shared, secure electronic medical record,” the release stated.
