The South East Area Health Education Center (SEAHEC) will sponsor the second annual Coastal Women’s Healthcare Summit on Sept. 11 and 12 at the Holiday Inn Resort in Wrightsville Beach.

The theme of this year’s summit is “Care and Concerns for the High Risk Woman.”

The summit is open to area health care providers. 

Discussions are slated to include: care for the HIV positive patient; high risk women with breastfeeding, substance use issues and impaired bonding; women experiencing opioid dependency and issues with chronic pain; and population most at risk for shoulder dystocia. 

The summit is open to doctors, maternal fetal specialists, nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, social workers, counselors, mental health providers and other interested health care providers.
