COREY YINGLING
TITLE: Volunteer and Board Member
ORGANIZATION: NourishNC
WHAT THE NOMINATOR SAID: “Corey Yingling [a LEAN coach/ facilitator at NHRMC] has been instrumental in ensuring that NourishNC is fulfilling our mission, that we have access to critical resources, and that our organization is well governed. Corey has dedicated countless hours of her time so that food insecure children in our community always have access to nutritious food. She helped secure funding for NourishNC’s Farmers MarKid Program, which took thousands of pounds of farm fresh produce right to kids in high-need schools and neighborhoods . . . She also recruited and organized the NHRMC volunteers who served tons of fresh produce to more than 1,200 kids at 8 MarKids this past year.
Corey also managed an enormous NHRMC-wide food drive that brought in 6 tons of food and thousands of dollars for NourishNC’s programs.
Corey doesn’t mind getting her hands dirty, but her knowledge, intelligence and skill set are her real assets. She has been instrumental in serving on NourishNC’s Board of Directors and leading our governance committee.”

FRAN SALONE-PELLETIER
TITLE: Lead Volunteer Chaplain
ORGANIZATION: Novant Health
WHAT THE NOMINATOR SAID: “Fran Salone-Pelletier has served as the lead volunteer chaplain at Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center for more than 15 years. Over the years, she has helped recruit numerous clergy from the community to serve as volunteer chaplains. While they all provide an invaluable service to the hospital, it is often Fran who has shown up in the middle of the night to comfort the family of a dying patient in the emergency department or to support the team after a particularly tragic loss.
In recent years, she has overcome her own health challenges. Yet, she always finds ways to give of herself – through her time and talents – to support the community through her volunteer role at Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center.
Fran is a role model for women in our community and a spiritual inspiration to so many.
She will always offer her time to help others - whether volunteering, leading a Bible study or just offering a kind word of encouragement.”
