New Members, Chairman Named To Board Of NHRMC

By Jamaal O'Neal, posted Nov 15, 2011

New Hanover Regional Medical Center is welcoming two new members and a chairman to its Board of Trustees.

Officials with the county’s largest hospital announced Tuesday that H. David Swain and Michael Wilkinson are replacing former trustees Larry Clark and David Sims, Jr., after a nine-year stint on the board, a news release said.

The pair will join existing board members: Vice-Chairman John Pace, Treasurer Ron Isyk, Secretary Helyn Lofton and at-large members Bobby Greer and Richard “Dick” McGraw.

Swain, the owner of Swain & Associates development firm, and Wilkinson, the chief information officer of Wilmington-based PPD, Inc., will serve three-year terms, before either being reinstated or rotated off the board.

John D. “Jack” Fuller, who recently retired from General Electric after 37 years with the company, will serve as the board’s chairman.

The Board of Trustees is made up of volunteers who are appointed by New Hanover County Commissioners with representation from nearby Pender County.

Sims spent the past two years as the hospital’s board chairman, while Clark most recently served as the chairman of the hospital’s Finance Committee, the news release said.

Neill Musselwhite is also moving off the board, having served his term as Immediate Past Chief of Staff. The medical staff’s representation on the board now includes Chief of Staff Robert Lubanksi, Chief of Staff-Elect Henry Patel and Immediate Past Chief of Staff George “Van” Huffmon.
