New Hanover Medical Group Joins NHRMC Physician Group

By Alison Lee Satake, posted Dec 3, 2010

One of Wilmington’s largest and most established primary care practices for 20 years, New Hanover Medical Group (NHMG) joined the NHRMC Physician Group on Dec. 1.

New Hanover Medical Group has 23 physicians and two mid-level providers, who care for more than 50,000 active patients. It has three locations in Ogden, Myrtle Grove and in central Wilmington on 16th Street.

“Patients of New Hanover Medical Group will continue to get the high-quality care they are used to receiving, but they will also benefit from the resources and technology that NHRMC Physician Group has to offer,” said Jack Barto, president and CEO at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in a press release.

New Hanover Medical Group offers a variety of services including immunizations and elder care. Its physicians are board-certified in family practice and internal medicine. By joining this large network, New Hanover Medical Group will benefit from access to business support resources offered by the NHRMC Physician Group, including medical office technology, quality resources, information technology and contract negotiations.

“Our partnership with the NHRMC Physician Group will be a great benefit to our patients,” said John Wheeler, New Hanover Medical Group CEO. “Because we are more closely coordinating with New Hanover Regional Medical Center, we can provide a more seamless experience for patients who come to New Hanover Medical Group for care, but also need the resources and services of NHRMC.”
