Doctors Graduate From Medical Residencies

New Hanover Regional Medical Center and Southeastern Area Health Education Center celebrated the graduation of 23 residents and two preliminary year residents on June 18.

The graduates completed residencies in family medicine, general surgery, internal medicine, obstetrics/gynecology and pharmacy.
Hospital officials said that the residency programs are rigorous teaching programs in which doctors learn hands-on skills in their chosen specialty.

Family medicine graduates include Adrienne Fehr, MD; Jadene Lowry, MD; and Beena Patel, DO.

General surgery graduates include Borden Hooks, MD; Damon Sheneman, DO; and Stanton Smith, MD.

In the field of internal medicine, graduates include Annemarie Armani, MD; Tej Atluri, MD; Ann Austin, DO; Brittany Bohinc, MD; Megan Engelen, DO; Mitra Hanjani, MD; Jeetpaul Saran, MD; and preliminary year graduates Michael Davis, MD; and Jeffrey Kuremsky, MD.

Obstetrics/gynecology graduates include Sura Edmond, MD; Margaret McElroy, DO; Justine Somoza, MD; and Richard Lee Toler, DO.
Graduating pharmacy residents include Frances Gravely, PharmD; Patrick Huffman, PharmD; Blake King, PharmD; Sonia Patel, PharmD; Katie Stabi, PharmD; and Laurie Whalin, PharmD.
