A New Hanover County resident has been appointed to the N.C. Local Government Commission, Gov. Pat McCrory’s office recently announced.
Robert Greer will serve on the nine-member board, which advises “local government on accounting and budgeting and to approve the issuance of local government and general obligations, revenue bonds and most installment purchases,” according to a news release.
Members serve four-year terms.
Greer is self-employed as a part-time consultant. He served as a New Hanover County commissioner between 1998 and 2010.
He sits on BB&T Bank’s advisory board and New Hanover Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees, the release stated.. He is past president of the U.S. Navy League Wilmington Council and Wilmington Rotary Club.
