Wilmington City Council is scheduled to discuss police force jurisdiction and traffic light cameras t tonight’s meeting at City Hall.
Council will consider approving an agreement with University of North Carolina Wilmington to extend jurisdiction of the university police force. The agreement would allow university officers to help deal with student-related activities like parties at private residences.
Council also will consider an agreement with New Hanover County for operating the Red Light Camera Program; the city and county will split the cost to run the program with most of the proceeds from tickets going to county schools.
The meeting is tonight at 6:30 at City Hall.
