Film Festival Extends Submission Deadline

By Jenny Callison, posted Jan 10, 2014
The N.C. Black Film Festival has extended its deadline for film submissions, announcing this week that the organization will accept entries through Jan. 31.

The festival, founded in 1998 and now in its 13th year, takes place in Wilmington March 13-16 and is presented by the Wilmington-based Black Arts Alliance. The juried and invitational event features independent films by black filmmakers in a range of formats: features, shorts, animations and documentaries.

A prize of $500 is awarded in each category, provided there are at least three entries screened in that category, according to the festival’s news release.

For more information about submission requirements, go to www.blackartsalliance.org or contact Charlon Turner at 620-3313 or [email protected].

The festival’s schedule and updates also will be posted on the website, according to the release.
