Achievers For Oct. 1 Issue

Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP recently announced that attorney Franklin Martin was selected by the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA) to serve on the Access to Justice (ATJ) Leadership Council. The ATJ Leadership Council assists the NCBA in increasing the financial support by NCBA lawyers to support legal services and provide civil legal services to needy citizens.

Community Support Professionals recently announced that therapist Carrie Cacchione will be the agency’s Intensive In-Home Services (IIHS) Lead. The IIHS program serves children up to 18 years old who have behavioral and emotional difficulties.

Brady recently announced the addition of Matt Gruver as a service technician for the Wilmington area. Gruver has a HVAC/R degree from York Technical Institute and eight years of experience as a service technician.

Williams Mullen’s Government Relations Practice recently announced the addition of William V. Brierre Jr. to the firm as a director of government affairs. Brierre will work in the Washington, D.C. office and will expand the firm’s advocacy services for federal transportation and maritime issues.

Wilmington Health recently announced the addition of Dr. Zhicheng Li to the Pain Management Department. Li will evaluate, diagnose and treat patients who suffer from a variety of acute and chronic painful conditions. Li graduated from medical school in China and did his residency at the Neurological Institute of New York, Columbia University.

Wilmington Health recently announced the addition of Dr. Nancy Gerber to the Hospitalists department. Gerber will manage and coordinate inpatient care to Wilmington Health patients at New Hanover Regional Medical Center and will work closely with the patients’ primary care physicians and specialists. Wilmington Health is the only private practice in the area with hospitalists.

Craig and Fox law firm recently announced the addition of Sarah E. Cox to their practice. Cox is a 2010 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. In law school, Cox worked with The University of Pittsburgh Elder Law Clinic and Community Legal Aid Services Inc. In August 2010, Cox was admitted to practice law in North Carolina.

AXA Advisors, LLC recently announced that Stan Swinson, a financial professional, attended the company’s At Retirement Forum held at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. Swinson earned a Certificate in Retirement Planning from the Wharton School of Business and is one of nearly 700 financial professionals nationwide to complete this retirement planning education program.

Cap Val recently announced the opening of an office in the Landfall Executive Suites at 1213 Culbreth Drive in Wilmington. CapVal also has offices in Atlanta and Raleigh. The company offers professional business appraisal services along with related litigation support and forensic accounting services. CapVal is a member of the American Business Appraisers.

Century 21 Sweyer and Associates recently announced that Glancy Thomas received the Workforce Housing Specialist (WHS) Certification. Thomas was among the first to receive the certification in Wilmington. The WHS Certification educates realtors on federal, state and local programs available to potential homeowners otherwise unable to afford a home.

Century 21 Sweyer and Associates recently announced that RJ Alex was elected as the 2011 Vice President for the Wilmington Regional Association of Realtors (WRAR). He will serve a four-year term.
