Wilmington-based restaurant chain Cape Fear Seafood Company plans to open its seventh location in Southport, according to a news release Friday.
CFSC will join The Shoppes at Dutchman Village, a planned development at 5020 J. Swain Blvd. in the Brunswick County city. The Shoppes project will contain a variety of restaurant, retail, medical and office space in 30,000 square feet.
Bryce Morrison and Lindsey Hess of Wilmington-based commercial real estate firm Cape Fear Commercial are overseeing the leasing efforts for the project, the release stated. This restaurant will be the seventh overall and fourth location in Southeastern North Carlina for CFSC, which was founded in 2008.
"This location for the Cape Fear Seafood Company family speaks to the growth of the seafood restaurant due to its tasty and consistent food offerings," according to the release.
The chain has not yet announced an estimated timeline for the opening of the new location.
The restaurants offer fresh fish, hand-cut steaks, steamed shrimp, crab legs, scallops and Calabash-style lightly fried offerings. Signature entrees include Cape Fear Shrimp & Grits, which was highlighted in Our State Magazine as one of five to try in the state of North Carolina and was voted Raleigh’s best, the release stated.
“We have been fortunate to enjoy the support of guests from across the state since our beginnings in Monkey Junction 15 years ago. We don’t take that for granted, our mission is to provide excellent meals and service to our guests mixed with an abundance of southern hospitality on each and every visit,” said Trawick in the release. “We have succeeded because of our desire to stay true to what we know: delicious seafood comes through in every dish. We are confident our new Southport location will be true to that.”
