Burnt Mill Creek owner Hunter Ford and Chef Keith Rhodes are a pair with a history. They worked side by side as front of the house manager and executive chef at former downtown restaurant Deluxe. Now Ford and Rhodes are working together again, but this time it’s an alliance that will likely benefit both of their businesses.

Rhodes, owner of Catch restaurant as well as two food trucks: Catch and Wing Star, has agreed to have one of his trucks at Burnt Mill Creek on Monday and Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons during football games.

Ford, who opened the Market Street bar and billiards hall in October, said one of Rhodes’ trucks will also be at his site on Fridays and Saturdays whenever it’s not already booked for another location. This arrangement allows Rhodes to keep on some of his extra staff that is needed at the restaurant during the busy summer season.

“He wants to keep on his good help and at the same time keep the trucks serving as many people as possible,” said Ford.

Ford says the menu items will change weekly and customers can expect everything from wings to tacos and sliders and lots of savory snacks ranging in price from $4 to $8.

“We’ve had a great relationship ever since working together at Deluxe,” said Ford. “I’m good at drinks and entertainment and Keith is great with food. It’s wonderful to have the opportunity to have businesses that can now co-exist together.”

Ford says he hopes that he and Rhodes will eventually collaborate on other events such as wine and beer dinners on the Burnt Mill Creek patio.

“The trucks have been very well received so far, not only from our customers but from folks in the neighborhood as well,” said Ford.

Burnt Mill Creek is located at 2101 Market St.
