Beer Bellies Seafood, Bar and Brews, 109 Market St., opened just prior to Memorial Day in the space formerly occupied by Shuckin’ Shack. The restaurant and bar has spent the summer months tweaking the menu and responding to customer feedback, according to general manager David Piatkowski.

Beer Bellies serves a wide variety of pub food, from burgers and sandwiches to wings and fried seafood platters. The restaurant also serves breakfast all day with items such as beignets, benedicts, hot stacks, chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits and omelets.

Piatkowski said that the original menu has been paired down somewhat, but there are several daily specials that allow the kitchen staff to be creative.

“Our kitchen is small so we’re keeping our menu small in order to get the food out quickly,” Piatkowski said. “Our goal is to provide something unique that you won’t find on other menus nearby.”

On Tuesdays Beer Bellies offers $1 tacos (chicken or beef, $2 for shrimp or catfish) and there are daily drink specials each day of the week. On weekends bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys are offered for $15.

There are six rotating drafts on tap as well as domestic and imported bottles and a full bar.

“We want to provide great food and drinks at a reasonable price,” Piatkowski said.”

Beer Bellies is open seven days a week from 11a.m. to 11 p.m. and until midnight on weekends.
