NCino Expands In North America

By Jenny Callison, posted Jul 12, 2019
Wilmington-based banking software company nCino has announced the opening of an office in Toronto to support the adoption of nCino's Bank Operating System within Canadian financial institutions.

The Toronto office is nCino's fourth. In addition to its world headquarters in Wilmington, the software company has locations in London, England and Sydney.

nCino sees significant opportunity in Canada for its expanding software suite, according to Cameron Sterrett, area vice president and general manager, Canada.

"Based on our experience helping more than 250 financial institutions in multiple countries transform and become more digitally- and customer-centric, we believe Canada presents a large opportunity for growth," Sterrett wrote in an email Friday.

The choice of Toronto was a logical one, according to Sterrett.

"Toronto is the leading financial services center in Canada and is headquarters to the nation's largest institutions in addition to being the banking and stock exchange center of Canada," he added. "Our proximity to these institutions, combined with a large talent pool and Toronto's overall livability index, made it an ideal location to open nCino's newest office."

nCino, established in 2012, has gained experience with a range of credit unions and banks with assets ranging from $200 million to $2 trillion as its client portfolio has grown. The expansion into another banking culture should not be a challenge, Sterrett said.

"nCino has a small group of Canadian customers, and we are in active conversations with other Canadian-based financial institutions. We look forward to providing more updates in the future as we expand our brand and footprint internationally," he said. "We’ve worked with financial institutions of all sizes and in multiple countries to help them digitize processes and increase efficiency, and to ensure they not only have the right technology, but the right processes in place to transform their institution, and then the right support to continue their transformation and ensure long-term success.

"We believe this will continue in Canada where financial institutions have embraced transformation and change and are hungry for new tools and innovative technologies that will enable them to provide better customer experiences more in line with the digital-first capabilities consumer brands like Netflix and Amazon are providing."

Sterrett's career in financial technology in Canada gives him experience with the market and expertise in financial services and digital transformation, the company's news release stated, adding that, as nCino continues to grow in that market, it plans to hire "talented personnel in key roles who understand local demands and regulations, and can meet the evolving needs of financial institutions and their customers."
