Growth, Recognition Mark Year's End For NCino

By Jenny Callison, posted Feb 1, 2019
In late 2018, banking software company nCino announced it was named to the Forbes Cloud 100, a ranking of the top 100 private cloud-based companies in the world.

The Wilmington enterprise landed at 24. It was one of only three North Carolina businesses to make the list: Bill processor AvidXchange, based in Charlotte, was 42; Raleigh-based communications company Pendo came in at 100.

“For the third consecutive year, the Forbes Cloud 100 recognizes the best and brightest of tech’s hottest category,” the magazine stated in its introduction to this year’s rankings. “Compiled with the help of partners Bessemer Venture Partners and Salesforce Ventures, the list tracks the best private cloud companies in the world by operating metrics such as revenue and funding, while enlisting the help of no less than 34 of their public cloud CEO peers.”

The year’s end saw nCino with a portfolio of 230 clients – up from 175 at the end of the previous year – and 600 employees. Besides its Wilmington base, nCino boasts offices in Sydney, Australia, Toronto, Canada and London, England. And the firm has nearly doubled its office space in Mayfaire from 75,000 square feet at the end of 2017 to 147,000 this past December.

“It’s worth noting that our product continues to expand as well, with the addition of our retail banking and enterprise onboarding solutions,” said spokeswoman Natalia Moose. “We’re well beyond our days of being just a commercial loan origination platform.”
