Foundation Launches New Grant Program In NC

By Jenny Callison, posted Mar 24, 2016

Durham-based NC IDEA has announced a new grant-making initiative open to both nonprofits and for-profit entities in the state.

Following NC IDEA’s recent conversion to a private foundation, the organization has launched an Ecosystem Partner Grant program. It will accept proposals for “innovative and transformational ideas that can further North Carolina’s entrepreneurial ecosystem,” according to an announcement March 15.

“NC IDEA’s mission is to maximize the economic potential of the people of North Carolina by supporting the formation and fruition of high-growth entrepreneurial endeavors in the state. The Ecosystem Partner Grant will enable NC IDEA to further its mission by working with partners around the state to foster a diverse, collaborative Community; identify and impact promising Companies; facilitate the formation and multiplication of Capital; nurture and attract world-class Talent while optimizing Connectivity,” the foundation’s announcement stated.

NC IDEA invites proposals with new or existing initiatives and innovative ideas.

Requests can be for grants up to $250,000, paid in one year, or spread over three years. Submissions are due by April 18; award notifications are anticipated in July.

Submissions will be evaluated based on the idea’s potential to further NC IDEA’s mission and align with the organization’s strategic initiatives, the announcement stated.

For guidelines and the full request for proposal, go to ncidea.org.
