Area McDonald's Contribute To Battleship Restoration

By Jenny Callison, posted Aug 11, 2015
Area McDonald’s operators presented a check for $8,400 to the Battleship North Carolina restoration fund at the Wilmington Hammerheads game July 1, according to a news release. The money was raised through the Big Macs for Battleship promotion, a combined effort of 32 McDonald’s in the region, and from personal donations from the restaurant owner/operators.

More than 10,000 Big Macs were sold as part of the promotion, the release stated.

Karla Taylor, director of marketing for the participating McDonald’s restaurants, was quoted in the release as saying at the check presentation, “We would like to thank you, the community, for helping restore the Battleship through the Big Macs for the Battleship promotion ... We are proud to be part of this historic endeavor to help preserve the Battleship for many more generations to come.”

Participating McDonald’s restaurants are owned and operated by Dennis Anderson, David Anderson, Tim Denny, Hugh Caison, Bob Kerzner and Kenneth Rust, the release stated.
