Loan Production Office Expands, Celebrates Award

By Jenny Callison, posted Apr 1, 2014
With its move into larger quarters last week, the loan production office of Atlanta-based Cornerstone Bank also had a track record to celebrate.

In its former small leased space on Oleander Drive, Cornerstone’s office made between $15 million and $16 million in SBA 7(a) loans during 2013, Marc Gilson, the bank’s senior vice president for the South Atlantic Region, said Tuesday.

Gilson explained that the office would continue to concentrate on SBA 7(a) loans as well as USDA loans.

The Wilmington office’s SBA loan volume in 2013 earned Cornerstone a bronze award from the SBA, which was presented Tuesday by regional SBA representative Don Spry.

Gilson added that in the first quarter of 2014, his office has completed an additional $8 million in SBA 7(a) loans.

Cornerstone’s territory for SBA and USDA lending stretches from Florida west to Texas, includes the Midwest and covers the East Coast from West Virginia south.

Joining Gilson in the new Lumina Station office space at 1908 Eastwood Road, Suite 322 are senior vice president Larry Brobst, loan closer Susan Watkins and senior underwriter Debbie Barnaby.
