By Staff Reports, posted Nov 9, 2012

EDITOR'S NOTE: This version reflects a correction to Chris Boney's status with the planning commission.

Chris Boney and John Monteith were named to Wells Fargo’s local advisory board of directors.

Boney is managing principal with LS3P Associates LTD. He also is former chairman of the Wilmington Planning Commission and serves on the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce’s board of directors.

Monteith is president of Monteith Construction Corp. He serves on the board of directors for the New Hanover Regional Medical Foundation and Brunswick County Economic Development. Monteith also is founder of Camp Schreiber Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the education of at-risk middle school boys.

As local advisory board members for Wells Fargo, Boney and Monteith’s responsibilities will include advising the Wilmington market president of customer concerns, community needs and local business opportunities, according to a press release. “They also communicate Wells Fargo’s business model, strengths and commitment to the Wilmington community,” the release stated.

“I am pleased that we could add these two distinguished business and community leaders to our advisory board,” Randy Tomsic, market president for Wells Fargo in Wilmington, said in a statement.
