Charlie Mattox has joined the N.C. Azalea Festival Board of Directors, according to a news release.

Mattox is the wholesale banking market president for Atlantic Union Bank.

"One of the greatest strengths of the North Carolina Azalea Festival is the dedication and expertise of our volunteer leadership," said Melissa Lasarsky, executive director of the festival, in the release. "We are excited to welcome Charlie Mattox to our Board of Directors and look forward to the perspective, energy, and vision he will bring as we continue to shape the future of this cherished tradition."

For nearly eight decades, according to the release, the N.C. "As someone who has long admired the festival's ability to bring people together, I am honored to join the board of directors," Mattox stated in the release. "I look forward to working alongside this incredible team to help ensure the Festival continues to bloom for generations to come."

The N.C. Azalea Festival is guided by a volunteer board of directors and supported by more than 100 committee chairs and co-chairs and over 1,000 volunteers, according to the release.
