Horton & Mendez Accident & Injury Attorneys has added attorneys Telana Poe and Jessica Cornette Faulk to its team, according to a news release.

"Their diverse experience in civil litigation and criminal prosecution strengthens the firm's mission to provide client-focused legal representation in serious injury and wrongful death cases," the release stated.

The Wilmington-based firm has grown to six locations across North Carolina in four years and crossed the $40 million mark in recovered compensation, according to the release.

Poe, a native of Ashe County, developed her passion for public service at an early age by watching her parents work inemergency services, the release stated. After earning her law degree from Campbell University, she built a career focused on personal injury, medical malpractice and high-stakes litigation, including cases tied to Camp Lejeune water contamination.

Faulk's legal journey began in criminal courtrooms where she prosecuted hundreds of cases as an assistant district attorney, according to the release.

"Transitioning to civil litigation, Faulk found her stride representing victims of injury and workplace accidents," the release stated. "She has also made her mark in education, teaching business and legal studies at the college level while continuing to advocate for clients in court. In particular, her background provides valuable insight for injured workers navigating the complexities of compensation law."
