Thomas Construction Group LLC recently announced its new chief financial officer and controller.
Dan Weldon has been promoted from controller to CFO after almost four years with the firm, according to a news release. As CFO, he will be accountable for the financial and risk management operations of the company, the release stated.
His duties include, but are not limited, to the development of the firm's financial and operational strategy and the
ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and financial results.
Longtime CFO Bruce Chappell will remain a managing partner with the company.
To accommodate Weldon’s transition to CFO, Thomas hired Jennifer Noland (pictured at right) for the role of controller. Noland joined Thomas with decades of accounting and controller experience within and outside of the AEC industry, the release stated. Noland is originally from Wilmington and moves back here with her husband, Alan, to be closer to family, according to the release.
“Thomas’ growth creates opportunities for us to examine our organizational structure for potential changes that better serve and support our long-term goals," said Chris Reid, president and COO of Thomas, in the release. "One of those places of focus has been in the controller position.”
