Wilmington-based Dermatology Associates has welcomed the return of Dr. Avery Bevin and the additions of Dr. Jessica Connett and Dr. Steven Vernali to the practice, according to a news release. 

Bevin (pictured below) graduated from the University of Rochester before attending medical school at the Uniformed Service University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed his dermatology residency at the Naval Hospital in San Diego and was stationed at Camp Lejeune from 2005-2008 as the chief dermatologist for the Marines at the hospital, the release stated.

Bevin also worked part time with Dermatology Associates until the Navy transferred him to Washington State, where he and his wife raised their family. After the children moved back East and upon his retirement from the military, Bevin decided to come back to Wilmington to treat patients, according to the release.
 
A Wilmington native, Connett (pictured at left) graduated from medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2013. She spent one year in Denver at St. Joseph’s Hospital for her internship. She then returned to MUSC for her dermatology residency and served as chief resident in 2017.  

Following her residency, Connett served veterans as a staff dermatologist at the Charleston VA hospital for two years before moving to Boston for her husband’s fellowship. There, she worked in private practice at Mystic Valley Dermatology.  She returned again to MUSC, where she served on the faculty as a clinical associate professor for two years before joining Dermatology Associates. 
 
Vernali (pictured at right) attended medical school at Boston University and graduated in 2018. He spent a year at Orange Park Medical Center in Florida for his internship. He completed his dermatology residency at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in June 2022. 
 
The doctors treat medical, surgical and pediatric dermatology patients and offer cosmetic services. Dermatology Associates is located at 6781 Parker Farm Dr., Suite 300., in Wilmington.
