Novant Health Taps Davis For Coastal Region Role

Novant Health named Heather Davis as vice president of clinical affairs for the coastal region, according to a recent announcement.

Davis will work with regional facility and institute physician leaders to advance patient care, the release stated.

“We’re pleased to welcome Dr. Davis to this leadership role as she will continue to build upon her legacy of serving patients across the region,” said Dr. West Paul, chief clinical officer for Novant Health’s Coastal region.

Davis has long served as an active and leading member of the medical staff at both Novant Health Pender Medical Center and Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She has served as hospitalist medical director, chief medical officer and chief of staff at Pender Medical Center. She has also served on boards overseeing both Pender Medical Center and New Hanover Regional Medical Center, according to the release.

Davis completed undergraduate studies at Pennsylvania State University and medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She went on to complete her family medicine residency at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, where she served as chief resident. Since completing her training, she has been in private practice working in a variety of settings and roles, including in ambulatory family medicine, urgent care and as a hospitalist, according to the release.

Davis has served as a faculty preceptor in the Family Medicine Residency Program at New Hanover Regional Medical Center and as an adjunct associate professor with the Department of Family Medicine through the University of North Carolina School of Medicine.

Additionally, Davis is a graduate of both the Leadership College and Health Care Leadership and Management Program through the Kanof Institute for Physician Leadership at the North Carolina Medical Society.
