Wilmington resident Matthew Magne left SAS and began a new role earlier this year as technical sales enablement manager at Alation.
Alation, a Silicon Valley Series E data catalog and data governance startup, provides Google-like search and Amazon-like reviews to help people find, trust and understand data, according to a news release.
Magne is also a TEDx speaker and the chief harmonizer of guitar duo Stationwagon. He spent eight years in pre-sales and technical sales enablement at IBM and SAS, selling MDM and DQ solutions, the release stated.
Prior to those roles, he held positions in sales enablement, product marketing, consulting and software development.
According to the release, Magne has launched multi-million dollar Data prep/Hadoop products, spent three years as an adjunct Instructor at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, is a member of the UNCW Data Science Masters & Sales/Marketing Advisory Boards and has spoken at numerous conferences.
