Mungo Homes recently announced that Scott Bowser has assumed the role of market president of the Myrtle Beach and Wilmington markets.

As market president, Bowser provides oversight and management of all daily operations, according to a news release.

A graduate of Kent State University who has previous experience with national builders, Bowser joined the Mungo organization in late 2019 as the market vice president for Myrtle Beach and Wilmington. Under his leadership, the number of closings has increased by 210%, the release stated.

According to Coastal Regional President Lee McLeod, “The success in both markets proves Scott’s abilities as both a market leader and great team builder and has earned him the promotion to market president.”

The Mungo family started building new homes in Columbia, South Carolina, in 1954, and now builds them throughout South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and Virginia. While still family-run with Steven Mungo as CEO, Mungo Homes became part of the Berkshire-Hathaway family of companies in 2018.

Mungo Homes sold more than 3,100 homes across its footprint in 2021, with revenue topping $1 billion.
