First National Bank Taps Spiers To Lead Wilmington Commercial Banking Team

First National Bank, the largest subsidiary of F.N.B. Corporation (NYSE: FNB), announced that it has hired Sandra L. Spiers as Wilmington market executive and commercial banking team leader.

Spiers joins FNB with over two decades prior experience as a senior vice president with financial institutions in Wilmington.
 
Spiers leads a team of commercial bankers who are responsible for lending, business development, relationship management and portfolio management for mid-sized and large corporate clients. As part of FNB’s cross-functional approach, her team also refers clients to appropriate financial solutions offered by FNB, such as financing and credit options, treasury management and ancillary services, according to a news release.

Spiers reports to Spence Broadhurst, president of FNB’s Eastern North Carolina Region, which encompasses Wilmington, Jacksonville and other markets across the eastern portion of North Carolina, the release stated.

Bringing nearly 40 years of banking industry experience to her new role, Spiers previously worked at RBC Bank and Truist Bank in Wilmington. She earned her bachelor’s degree in finance from Louisiana State University.

Spiers is an active member in the community, currently serving as a board member on the Girls Leadership Academy of Wilmington Foundation, the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) Foundation, the UNCW Cameron School of Business, the New Hanover Regional Medical Center Foundation, StepUp Wilmington and the Cape Fear Boy Scouts Advisory Board.
