Good Shepherd Center has hired Lauren Henderson as director of finance and administration, working with the executive director and board of directors to oversee Good Shepherd’s various financial activities, as well as administrative and human resource duties.

Henderson comes to Good Shepherd after 15 years in financial roles with CastleBranch, most recently as its chief financial officer.

Henderson, who holds an MBA from UNCW, served on the board of directors for Good Shepherd, and as treasurer, she was familiar with the responsibilities of this position, newly created to manage Good Shepherd’s expected growth in the coming years.

Katrina Knight, executive director of Good Shepherd, said in the release, “Lauren was a tremendous asset as a member of Good Shepherd’s Board and Executive Committee and we are excited to have her transition to a colleague and member of the senior staff.

"Her financial acumen, proven leadership abilities, and commitment to Good Shepherd’s mission allows us to continue to meet the growing needs of our clients, staff, volunteers and donors,” the release stated.

Good Shepherd Center, 811 Martin St. in Wilmington, serves as a soup kitchen, homeless shelter and rehousing solution for the Cape Fear community.
