Brunswick County Risk Management Technician Andrew Frantz was recognized with the 2020 N.C. Association of County Commissioners (NCACC) Frank Bonner Scholarship, according to a news release.

Frantz received the honor for "his dedication to implementing risk management techniques in the workplace," stated the release.

The scholarship was awarded in October and will cover the expenses to attend the PRIMA Institute, an educational program for new risk managers, and seasoned risk professionals seeking to learn more about emerging trends and best practices, stated the release.

Frantz has served Brunswick County since 2017. He is the first recipient of this award from Brunswick County, stated the release.

He earned a bachelor’s degree from Millersville University. He is currently enrolled in the Master of Public Administration program at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, stated the release.

“This year’s recipient, Andrew Frantz, has several years of experience in his current role and has made valuable contributions to improving workplace safety, including implementing a new online safety training program for county employees," said Charles Eaton, NCACC risk management deputy director, in the release.

"He also brings valuable knowledge, having earned a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Environmental Health. On behalf of NCACC, we are pleased to present the Frank Bonner Scholarship to Mr. Frantz – a committed public servant, who is eager to pursue ongoing education and growth in our profession," he said.
