Four NHRMC Nurses Earn State Recognition

By Christina Haley O'Neal, posted Aug 11, 2020
Four nurses with New Hanover Regional Medical Center have been honored among the Great 100, a special distinction for nurses across North Carolina, according to a news release.

The local New Hanover Regional Medical Center honorees include: Mary Ellen Bonczek, chief nurse executive; Jessica Nowak, staff nurse and past chair of Nursing Congress; Colleen Mistovich, sexual assault nurse examiner program coordinator; and Kimberly Duggan, surgical home manager and patient navigator

"Being chosen for the Great 100 carries a special distinction, especially in this time in which all nurses have risen to greater challenges," officials stated in the release. "Each of these nurses demonstrate an enhanced level of compassion for patients, a commitment of integrity and accountability to their co-workers, and are deeply invested in our community."

"They represent the best of who we are at NHRMC and are shining examples for all in their profession. NHRMC is excited to celebrate their achievement and proud to be represented by them," officials said.
