YMCA Hires Meghan Merritt

The YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina has hired Meghan Merritt as director of organizational development, according to a news release.

In the role, Merritt is responsible for human resources, risk management, leadership development and training, and evidence-based health initiatives including the Y’s Diabetes Prevention Program, Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring, Moving for Better Balance and Healthy Weight and Your Child.

“Our YMCA and community will benefit from the experience and expertise that Meghan brings to this organization. We are happy to have her join our Leadership Team," Dick Jones, president and CEO of YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina, said in the release.

Merritt most recently served as director of philanthropy for the Cape Fear Community College Foundation.

Prior to that, Merritt worked for the YMCA of Western North Carolina and YMCA of the USA in several capacities including program director for diabetes interventions and executive director of the Corpening Memorial YMCA, stated the release.
