Novant Health has welcomed Maria Rivell, a physician, to Novant Health Family & Internal Medicine South Brunswick, according to a news release.

Rivell joined the clinic, which offers a wide range of services, in November, stated the release. The practice is located at 75 Emerson Bay Road SW, Suite 102 in Carolina Shores.

Rivell attended medical school at Far Eastern University -- Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation in the Philippines, officials said. She completed her anatomic pathology residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York and internal medicine residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.
