Batts Joins Pender County Health Department

Ashley Clair Batts, a women's health nurse practitioner (WHNP), has joined the Pender County Health Department's Women’s Health Clinic. She will provide family planning and prenatal services five days a week and is accepting new patients, according to a news release from the department.
 
Batts grew up in Wilmington and graduated from Hoggard High School. She has a business degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University and graduated from the accelerated nursing program at UNC-Chapel Hill. She then earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Duke University, the release stated.
 
Before moving to the Pender County Health Department, Batts worked for five years with New Hanover County Health Department as a team lead for maternal health services and pregnancy care management, according to the release.  She completed her clinical rotation at the Pender Health Department this past year.
 
Women’s Health services at the Pender County Health Department include family planning (limited fertility consultation) physicals, birth control, pregnancy testing, prenatal care, colposcopy clinic, pregnancy care management, immunizations and breast and cervical cancer screenings.
