The Dosher Memorial Hospital Foundation Board has elected three new members, according to a news release.
David Berne, Tom Cavanaugh and Jwantana Frink, all from Southport, have joined the board. The foundation is the fundraising arm of Dosher that supports new and expanded health and wellness services at the hospital, officials said in the release.
Berne is the owner of Atlantic Realty Professionals located on Bald Head Island, officials said. He has served on various boards, including the Bald Head Island Conservancy and the Boy Scouts of America and is currently a member of the New Hope Clinic board.
Berne is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and also attended the University of Georgia for two years.
Cavanaugh (right) retired in February 2016, after nearly 37 years with DuPont, officials said. He received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of South Carolina.
Jwantana Frink and her husband, Curtis, are owners of Advanced Concepts of Southport Inc., officials said.
Jwantana Frink, a native of Bolivia, graduated from Brunswick Community College (BCC) in 1995.
After graduation, Jwantana Frink (left) became involved in restaurant management and real estate and became a licensed associate broker with Margaret Rudd & Associates Inc.
She became the first African American female to be elected as a Southport Alderman in 2007, officials said. She was also the first BCC Board of Trustees that year.
Jwantana Frink is also a past member of the board of directors of the N.C. Coastal Land Trust, officials said.
