By Christina Haley O'Neal, posted Dec 4, 2018
LS3P has hired Matt Barnett as a project architect at the firm’s Wilmington office, according to a news release.

Barnett has worked at several firms in Los Angeles, Kansas City and Memphis, and brings previous experience in several fields, including commercial, residential, higher education and landscape, officials said in the release.

He has conducted an array of research on advanced facade systems, material applications and unique construction methods; projects that have garnered more than 20 design awards from the American Institute of Architects, officials said in the release.

Barnett earned a bachelor's degree in architecture from The University of Tennessee. While at the university, he directed the school’s chapter of the American Institute of Architecture Students Freedom by Design.

He served as the advisory board co-chair for Freedom by Design nationally and directed the “blue skies initiative,” which provides strategic planning for the next ten years, officials said in the release.

He also was named “torchbearer” by the university’s chancellor, the university's highest honor, according to the release.
