NCHEA Makes $10,000 Gift To Support CFCC Engineering Students

By Christina Haley O'Neal, posted Sep 25, 2018
The North Carolina Healthcare Engineers Association recently contributed $10,000 to Cape Fear Community College for scholarships, according to a news release.

The The North Carolina Healthcare Engineers Association's (NCHEA) scholarships were awarded to two engineering students for the 2018-19 academic year, Kymel Bloodworth and Nicholas Hagley, officials said in the release.

NCHEA has a tradition to incorporate a community outreach project during its annual conference year. This year's conference was held in August at the Wilmington Convention Center. NCHEA, a not-for-profit, incorporated association, serves and promotes the healthcare engineering profession.

This year the association created a scholarship to support Cape Fear Community College engineering programs, which include electronics engineering technology, mechanical engineering technology and mechatronics engineering technology, officials said in the release.

“We can’t thank NCHEA enough for their generous investment in our engineering students,” said CFCC Dean of Career and Technical Education Mark Council, in the release. “The difference their support makes in the lives of these students is tremendous and it will propel and equip the engineering workforce of the future.”
