Dosher has welcomed a new physician to its team, according to a news release.

Internal medicine physician W. Alex Newsom has joined the Dosher clinic on North Howe Street, officials said in a news release. Newsom is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and joins Dosher from Cheraw, South Carolina, where he worked for McLeod Health.

Newsom earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He served a residency at Wake Forest University.

He is working with Andre’ Minor and the team at Dosher Medical-North Howe Street internal medicine practice, officials said.
