The Wilmington Symphony Orchestra has promoted Nicole Thompson to a full-time position as marketing and operations director, according to a news release.

Thompson has previously served in a part-time role with the organization since September 2012, officials said in the release.

"In her expanded position, she will be responsible for all aspects of marketing public relations, concert production, as well as youth education, and community engagement," officials said.

Thomspon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from Minnesota State University and has held a variety of positions in arts and entertainment.

Prior to moving to Wilmington in 2011, she was co-owner of Bradford Entertainment, a Minneapolis based production company. Also in Minneapolis, she served as arts administrator for the Lundstrum Center for the Performing Arts, officials said.
