Intracoastal Realty Corp. has announced that John Schweighardt has joined the company as chief information officer, according to a news release.

Schweighardt took on the role in mid-June and brings extensive experience in customer service technology and corporate growth to the real estate firm, officials said in the release. As CIO, he will lead all aspects of the Intracoastal's technology and information systems.

Intracoastal Realty has more than 400 agents and administrative staff, operating in 13 offices from Topsail Island to Ocean Isle Beach, officials said.

Schweighardt was formerly the CIO and vice president of operations for Fonville Morisey Realty in Raleigh, according to the release.

“Intracoastal is well known for its outstanding client service and I look forward to further developing the company’s information technology systems to complement and enhance that service,” Schweighardt said in the release.

“Enhancing the technical platform to build systems and processes to help agents and staff be more efficient, design innovative sales strategies by leveraging data and packaging all this technology into an easy to use interface are just a few of my priorities," he added.

Schweighardt said the company's growth and collaborative culture attracted him to Intracoastal Realty.

“I was with a firm roughly twice the size of Intracoastal and I look forward to developing systems to support their similar growth trajectory,” he said.
