SunTrust Mortgage Inc. has announced that Melanie Welsh has been hired as vice president and producing sales manager for the Coastal Carolina Region and will be located in the Landfall office in Wilmington, according to a news release.

Welsh comes to SunTrust Mortgage with more than 30 years of experience and a track record of successful leadership results within the mortgage industry, officials said in the release. She has a very diverse background that brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the areas of sales, operations, relationship management and business development with an unwavering commitment to excellence.

“Melanie has a stellar reputation as a true mortgage professional with high standards of professionalism and integrity. Her leadership experience, extensive relationships in the real estate community and commitment to delivering exceptional service to our clients and partners will be a great addition to our Wilmington and surrounding area markets,” said David Schnepp, SunTrust Mortgage’s area regional manager, in the release. "We’re excited to have her in this role and look forward to enhancing our presence and continued market share growth."

Most recently, Welsh was with On Q Financial in a business development/mortgage consultant role.
