Katie Laymon Becomes SHRM Certified Professional

Katie Laymon, office administrator for the Wilmington office of Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog LLP, has received her certification as a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional.

Laymon received this certification after passing the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Certified Professional exam, which is available to human resources professionals who implement policies and strategies, serve as a point of contact for staff and stakeholders, deliver HR services and perform operational HR functions, according to a news release.

Applicants must meet specific education and work experience criteria to be eligible to sit for the exam, officials said in the release.

As the Wilmington office administrator, Laymon manages the Wilmington staff and is responsible for daily operations including, but not limited to, human resources, facilities management and finance.

She is currently serving as co-chair for programming for the Lower Cape Fear Human Resource Association and is a member of the local and national Association of Legal Administrators and the national and local SHRM.
