PPD Earns Awards For Excellence In Regulatory Affairs

By Christina Haley O'Neal, posted Dec 5, 2017
Pharmaceutical Product Development, LLC (PPD) has announced it earned two honors for excellence in regulatory affairs at The Organisation for Professionals in Regulatory Affairs (TOPRA) Awards in London, according to a news release.

Evolus, Inc., a United States-based biotechnology company that utilizes PPD services, nominated the collaborative Evolus-PPD team for the TOPRA Award for support, which recognizes the critical role supporting organizations play in drug development, officials said in the release.

TOPRA established its awards for regulatory excellence in 2010 to recognize the achievements of the regulatory affairs community, officials said. The winners are selected by an independent judging panel.

PPD has provided Evolus an end-to-end service solution from the outset of early engagement consulting activities, including scientific advice through to clinical trial execution and the filing and management of global marketing applications (MA).

“The PPD team integrated seamlessly with our team, providing a global ‘one team’ solution to meet our corporate goals,” said Del Stagg, vice president of regulatory affairs of Evolus, in the release.

Clare Ryder, associate director of regulatory affairs of PPD, received the TOPRA Award in the contribution category, which recognizes significant and consistent contributions to a team, project, regulatory science or the profession.

Ryder, who also is a member of the Evolus-PPD team, was recognized for reliably meeting clients’ goals of submitting MAs within often tight timeframes.

“PPD’s regulatory affairs teams are committed to the pursuit of excellence in providing regulatory intelligence for product development and registration strategies and ensuring high-quality submissions to regulatory authorities,” said William Sharbaugh, chief operating officer of PPD, in the release. “Congratulations to our employees for being recognized as industry leaders for their expertise and efforts to help our clients improve patient health.”
