New Hanover Regional Medical Center recently announced a new addition to its Physician Group.

Lindsay Allred, specializing in family medicine, is now at NHRMC Physician Group–New Hanover Medical Group's Myrtle Grove location, according to a news release.

Allred was most recently a resident physician at NHRMC Physician Group–Coastal Family Medicine. He earned his undergraduate degree in biological science from the Florida Institute of Technology and his medical degree from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.

“Dr. Allred is a valuable addition to our team and will further our mission of providing a high standard of care to patients as our region continues to grow,” said Jeffrey Warhaftig, president of New Hanover Medical Group. “We are also excited to add another physician to our practice with strong ties to our community. Dr. Allred is a Wilmington native, who was born at NHRMC, and is dedicated to providing quality health care to the members of our community both professionally and on a volunteer basis.”

Since 2014, Allred has volunteered as a primary care provider at the St. Mary Health Center to provide free health care for residents of New Hanover and surrounding counties who are uninsured.
