The Brunswick County Association of Realtors announced its 2016 award winners and installed its 2017 officers at a recent banquet.
 
Ben Styers of Southport Realty will serve as BCAR’s board president for 2017, succeeding Jim Goodman of Margaret Rudd & Associates. Other offices are: Clif Cheek, president-elect; Wilson Sherrill, treasurer; Jim Goodman, past president; Bonnie Black, Jennifer Brown, Brooke Rudd-Gaigle, Lynn Gulledge, Jayne Anderson, Barbara Andrews, Tracy Swanson, Bruce Williams and Richard Barnes.
 
The 2016 award winners were Realtor of the Year: Clif Cheek of Resort Brokerage & Consulting; Affiliate of the Year: Karen Throckmorton of Cornerstone Home Lending; and Rising Star Award: Donna Atherton of Margaret Rudd & Associates.
 
Additionally, longtime BCAR member Margaret Bishop was granted Realtor Emeritus Status by the National Association of Realtors. This status is given to members who have held membership in the national association for a cumulative period of 40 years and have served at the national, state or local level.
