The Brunswick County Association of Realtors announced that Donna Atherton of Margaret Rudd and Associates is the winner of the Rising Star Award for 2016. Atherton has been a BCAR member since 2013 and has served on the education committee, budget and finance committee, nominating committee, bylaws/policy committee, strategic planning committee and board of directors.
 
The NC Realtors Rising Star Award recognizes a Realtor in each association who has been a Realtor for five years or less, has provided exemplary service to the local association, and exhibits leadership potential.
 
“Donna Atherton is an up-and-coming leader in our profession, and we are excited to see her receive this well-deserved honor,” said BCAR President Jim Goodman in a news release.
 
A native of metro Atlanta, Atherton and her family moved several times before settling in North Carolina. She earned an MBA from Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, N.C.
